The report is not the finish line. The real value of an arc flash hazard assessment comes from how the facility applies the findings to equipment labeling, worker training, maintenance, and future system changes.

The results should support the way the facility actually operates. That means clear responsibilities, accurate field information, and follow-up items that can be assigned and tracked.

What to Do With the Report

Begin by reviewing the report with facility management, electrical maintenance personnel, safety staff, and other affected teams. Confirm that equipment names in the report match the facility’s one-line drawings and field identification.

Arc-flash labels should be applied to the correct equipment and should reflect the completed assessment. Label information may include nominal voltage, the arc-flash boundary, and the incident-energy or PPE-selection information required by the facility’s chosen method.

The assessment should also become part of the facility’s electrical safety program rather than remaining only in a project file.
